“I had an uncle who was a neurosurgeon. I saw the life he was leading, and how he committed himself to others, and it certainly played a part in my wanting to become a physician. It also helped that I was strongly drawn to the sciences, particularly biochemistry. But what really got me excited about medicine was interventional radiology.

“When I was introduced to interventional radiology, I suddenly knew the way in which I wanted to be able to make a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to be an interventionalist. I wanted to be able to directly intervene in disease processes using advanced technologies, because I saw how it made a dramatic, positive difference in people’s lives. Making that difference was why I had become a doctor in the first place.

“More than a decade ago, when endovenous ablation for venous disease was first introduced, I jumped at the chance to learn about this procedure. In addition to having learned advanced catheter skills as a neuroradiologist and interventional radiologist, I also had varicose veins myself. So treating veins is not just a perfect fit for me but also something that I understand well and have a personal stake in. I strive to provide the very highest standard of care, for one simple reason: we all deserve a comfortable, pleasant experience and the best possible outcomes.”
