On Your 1st Visit

Come informed, prepared and ready for relief!

First, relax. At Gilvydis Vein Clinic, there are really only two things that we want you to keep in mind:
– Vein care is significantly different than it used to be. And by that we mean that it’s faster, easier, minimally invasive and can be done in-office . . . all with little or no discomfort or downtime.
– We are committed to your best interests, from the standard of care we provide to our high level of customer attention and service.
These are important. That’s because, in our line of work, we routinely encounter people who are afraid of vein treatment. But we want you to know that there’s nothing to fear, and that we’ll be here with you the whole way with experienced skill and caring hearts.

What to wear and be prepared for at Gilvydis Vein Clinic.

For your first appointment, wear comfortable clothes. Shorts are advised. Also, be ready to tell us your history of vein-related symptoms and the details of your medical history. What medications do you take? What prior medical procedures have you had? What diagnoses have you had? Did your parents have varicose veins? You can get the jump on your first visit by downloading the new patient form and other related forms and policies here.

What to bring with you to see Dr. Gilvydis.

Bring your ID and your insurance card. Also please be sure to bring a list of your diagnoses and the medications you take. You should also bring any pertinent medical records, such as imaging results, prior test results or doctor’s notes related to your vein problem. Plan to arrive about 15 minutes early to fill out your paperwork. You can save time by downloading and completing your paperwork in advance and bringing it with you to your first visit.

If you need tests, they’re painless and noninvasive.

When you come for your appointment with Dr. Gilvydis, you may at some point be examined using ultrasound. If the test is appropriate for you, it will likely be conducted at a later time. But if you need an ultrasound, remember that it is painless and noninvasive, using soundwaves to create an image, just like sonar. This is why we ask that you wear comfortable clothes. Also, to ensure the most accurate diagnosis and care, all our ultrasounds are performed by accredited technologists and interpreted by an experienced professional: Dr. Gilvydis himself.
