Unlike other vein clinics, you won’t need countless sessions to finally have healthy legs you can love. Dr. Gilvydis specializes in laser ablation, which helps get rid of painful symptomatic varicose veins in fewer sessions compared to other vein treatments.
We’re the state’s leading vein clinic for a reason. Our staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable, helping you feel comfortable with any procedures. Dr. Gilvydis is among the most experienced EVLA physicians in the Midwest—so you can be sure your screening and procedures will have the best possible outcome.
We use the most advanced technology to map the vein system and identify which veins need to be treated. Each ultrasound exam typically takes 60-90 minutes to complete. Once problem veins have been identified, a healthcare provider will review the ultrasound images and explain the results to give you options for the best possible outcome.
Gone are the old-school treatments of vein stripping and open surgery. Our EVLA procedures are so much simpler, that most patients can typically return to their normal activities the same day. We’re an accredited facility for vascular testing, which means you’ll get the best results around.
In conjunction with EVLA, we can inject—under either light or ultrasound guidance—a foam or liquid agent to close bad veins, including smaller varicose veins and spider veins. It’s a non-surgical procedure that is quick and painless, and typically takes 15-45 minutes.
First, the doctor will mark problem veins on your skin with a pen. With the help of an ultrasound, the doctor will be able to see which veins to target.
The doctor will administer local anesthesia. Then, a laser catheter will be inserted into each spider vein. The laser will seal shut the problem vein without damaging any surrounding tissue. This process will be continued for each problem vein.
After all veins have been lasered, you are free to go! This is a minimally invasive procedure, so it requires relatively little downtime. Simply abstain from running or heavy exercise in the first two weeks.
